Steps for Success

Hi, Welcome to Step 25.

This Step's Feature

-

Your Ongoing Journey

You've now completed the 25 Steps for Success. That shows real commitment and strength. Congratulate yourself on how far you've come!

Everyone's road is different. If you've lost weight and changed key lifestyle habits, well done. If you still have a ways to go, don't get discouraged. All of Q and Me's resources are still free, and still available to you any time you want to use them.

The Road Ahead

Remember, there are four habits of people who successfully lose weight and keep it off:

Keep in mind that this can be a crucial time:

  • Most people who regain weight do it in the first few years
  • The longer you succeed, the longer you are likely to stay successful
    • Keep the weight off 2 years, and your risk of gaining it back is cut in half
    • Keep it off 5 years, and you cut your risk of putting weight back on by nearly 70%

This Step's Goals

Try to Maintain Good Eating Habits

+

Throughout 25 Steps for Success, you've learned a lot about nutrition and healthy eating habit. Make an effort to put this knowledge into practice:

Eat Smart

There's more to eating smart than just counting calories—healthy choices can mean the difference between a "quick-fix" and lasting, meaningful weight loss

Be Consistent About Being Physically Active

+

Don't let your commitment to physical activity slide:

Strategies to Ensure You Meet Physical Activity Goals

Learn how to set up cues that can keep you on track—and ignore those that throw you off

Don't Let a Minor Slip-Up Get You Down

+

If you slip, get right back up. How you respond to a small lapse can make a big difference! It may help to review Q and Me information about staying on track:

Learn more about preventing lapse, relapse, and collapse.
Learn more about strategies for your ongoing journey.

Remember, every effort you've made is a step in the right direction. Congratulate yourself on the progress that you've made, and keep at it!

Preventing Lapse, Relapse, and Collapse

Everyone has a lapse from time to time. What matters is how you respond

Take Note of the Positive Changes You've Made

+

Think about the positive changes you've made. Are you more conscious of the kinds of food you eat, and when you eat them? Have you learned more about good nutrition, or lost some weight? Are you more active than you used to be? Most importantly, do you feel more confident, and more in control of your eating and exercise habits?

If you still have some work to do, don't worry. Meaningful, lasting weight loss takes patience and perseverance. Build on the positive changes you've made, and don't be afraid to ask your healthcare provider for a little extra help.

Develop a Plan With Your Healthcare Provider

+

If you've reached your target weight, ask your healthcare provider to help you develop a plan to keep you in shape for the long haul. If you haven't, see if he or she can help you adapt your current regimen. Some of things you may want to discuss include:

  • Setting a long-term weight goal. This should be a weight range you and your healthcare provider find acceptable for you to maintain for a long time—perhaps for the rest of your life
  • Whether you should keep taking Qsymia®
  • Strategies you can use to stay on track. Continue to record your eating habits in a food tracker and planner and your physical activity in an exercise tracker. Review this information and try to find times you've slipped up, so that you can discuss these incidents during your appointment

Thanks for following 25 Steps for Success. We wish you the best of luck on your lifelong journey to health, happiness and well-being!

As always, please:

  • Continue taking Qsymia® daily in the morning, as instructed by your healthcare provider
  • Use a tracker to record what you eat every day, your physical activities, and your weight for the week
